Supatrac Blackbird Farpoint Sideways Uni-Pivot Arm
Blackbird Farpoint is a new turntable tonearm with an evolved bearing design (patent in the process) that outperforms traditional tonearms. SUPATRAC is designed to be rigid in the axis which matters: the groove’s time axis. It never skips a beat, never smoothes over detail, and never wastes the raw energy of the musical signal.
The single point tungsten bearing directly opposes oscillating drag forces from the cartridge so slipping and timing errors don’t confuse the retrieval of music.
The NEW Blackbird Farpoint increases pivot distance by a centimetre with a corresponding increase in arm length on the same turntable. Hence the name, ‘Farpoint’. Farpoint tone-arms incorporate reinforcement at the critical headshell and thrustbox junctions.
The range of pivot distances is also increased, and the suspension length is shortened. These improvements make the Blackbird Farpoint more adaptable while improving the Blackbird’s already unprecedented performance by a whisker.
SUPATRAC’s sideways uni-pivot bearing directly opposes stylus drag at a single point of contact, avoiding bearing chatter, slippage, and any play in the time axis. SUPATRAC’s zero-tolerance bearing is immune to heat, wear, and lubricant decay.
SUPATRAC’s bearing is designed not to deteriorate with age. The SUPATRAC Blackbird is designed to be lightweight and stable, fitting almost any turntable including classics like Linn, Technics, Garrard, Rega, and many more. The arm suspension obstructs the freedom to roll in the azimuth axis which can compromise ordinary uni-pivot arms.

DESCRIPTION
The NEW Blackbird Farpoint increases pivot distance by a centimetre with a corresponding increase in arm length on the same turntable. Hence the name, ‘Farpoint’.
Farpoint tone-arms incorporate reinforcement at the critical headshell and thrustbox junctions. The arm pillar is stiffer and more universal, allowing each Blackbird tone-arm to be adapted to a wider range of turntable mounts.
Suspension and lean (‘azimuth’) adjustments have been separated so that hot-swapping tone-arms are more easily achieved without the need to re-adjust the suspension. The range of pivot distances is also increased, and the suspension length is shortened.
These improvements make the Blackbird Farpoint more adaptable while improving the Blackbird’s already unprecedented performance by a whisker.
